A young family living on the outskirts of Vilnius, Lithuania, challenged YCL Studio to come up with a modern design for what is now known as the Pavilny Residence. This 117 square meter cottage is impressive thanks to the feeling of elegant space and palette in black, white, gray and walnut. With everyday objects far from sight under a smart storage solution, this place feels unconscious and very minimalist – as long as we enter, you feel like you are in a friendly workplace than in a house that is constantly inhabited.
The following is a brief excerpt from the official description of the project, such as that provided by the architect: “The area on the first floor is connected with relaxing stone wall paintings, while the private sleeping zone on the second floor is covered with warm oak parquet floors connected by insulation. which has been strengthened by a table calling on all family and friends to enjoy an unforgettable dinner together. The daylight fills the home as an uninvited but pleasant visitor. “Photo by Andrius Stepankevičius
